I don't know, the alternate ending actually seems more emotional than the theatrical one.

It must have been quite a while since I've seen this movie cause I don't even remember the differences between that and how it really ended.

The way Frank kills the guy is different, and the stuff with Castle urging the kid the kill him is a bit longer.

I liked how cold he was in the actual film though. In this one, he has a little freak out where he yells and cries. I liked it better when he just says "Do it. Do it."
Still one of the best moments out of all 3 Punisher films if you ask me. The 89 Punisher has a lot of flaws, but it also has a lot of great parts.

That ending is probably some of the best acting that Dolph has done. Goldblatt has been traveling around with a directors to various screenings recently, and I really would interested in checking it out.

I love that they used music from Lethal Weapon at times. I think they could have worked some of the clips in to the actual movie. gave Frank more of his back story.
